Its a whole "new" place

Well since I am not at my old home anymore, I guess I will have to take over the blog. Let me start with a thanks to the Jacobs for prompting me to get this site updated.

I am finally moved into my new home in Algona, IA. It is a dream come true!

THANK GOD FOR MOVERS. This is a plug for Lint Van Lines. They are GREAT. They saved me major back pains and stopped my begging of friends and family to come help move me.

Here is a view from the street.

This is the second lot with its flower garden and grape trellis. Anyone have a good grape jelly recipe?

Here are some of the views I will see a lot of. This is the backdoor near the "little" garage. If you look behind the tree/bush you will see the second garage which has been converted to be a shop. This just makes my mind race with projects that I won't get finished!

I know that you probably want more pictures of the inside, but I am not done unpacking! There is more to come. One of the many perks of the "new" home is shown in the middle of the picture. I am not the proud owner of a corn burner. It is a little noisier than I expected but not bad. Let's burn that corn!

Its like under grad again

Well if you knew me in when I was at Iowa State University this scene would look like a picture from your memory banks. I am back to living cheaply with as little of my stuff as possible. That way I can easily move myself to my new home.

If you could see the bike up close you would see that it has a layer of dust on it from not being used! I do promise I will start riding sooooooon.

Time to Move on!!!!

Well it is a sad day. It is moving day for the guy that lives here. It has been a great stay, but our time is over.

Check out the rig that stopped by to haul all the stuff. The two guys that jumped out to pack up all the stuff were so proud of their ride that they even Armor All'ed the tires before driving up.

The two guys that packed up the truck were GREAT! Super nice, funny, and hard working! I give Lint United Van Lines an A++.

Look at all the "stuff" this guy has. I didn't know that he had an ironing board. Think he knows how to use the thing?

Time to lose the spare tire

Well I think someone is tire be getting FAT. Now I have this bike in my living room. Yeah it is shiny but I think that is because it hasn't been ridden lately. To the credit of the man that lives here he has rode it the last two nights. I didn't realize that much sweat can come out of one guy. WOW!

If you look closely I guess you can say he is working on his Java skills. haha!

New name

Well the electrician stopped by to do some final work before the new "person" moves in. It is kind of sad to see this all happening, but I am sure the guy that lives here will do just fine in his new place.

Speaking of the new place the guy that lives here and I are needing some suggestions for names for the new place. Granted you haven't seen it, but that doesn't really matter. The more creative and curiosity invoking the better!

Now leave a comment with the name for the new place. or vote to continue this name.

Harvest has begun

The guy that lives here is getting pretty busy again saying something about harvest. I don't much about this corn stuff he talks about, but he seems to be having a great time.

In two weeks I will be be meeting my new "guest". The guy that lives here is happy that he won't have to move to far away. He found a cheap apartment just a few blocks away. I hope he drops by from time to time.

final step

Well there are a few things left to do before the new "guy" comes to live here. Here is a picture of the room without the carpet. As you see there is a "hard working" pair of shoes on the right. Wonder who's those are?

OHHHH, there is the big helper. It might look like he is doing the managerial work, but he actually did a lot of work. Thanks MAN!!

Good news

A picture says a thousand words!!!!! And look, even my flowers are happy.

It wasn't all work

As you can see the weekend fixup wasn't all work.

Fixing me up

Wow there has been a lot of work done on me. This guy is really wanting to get me sold so I can start a new life with someone new.

This is how you get rid of my tatoos.

Here is after 2 coats of primer, you still see the eyes from my sponge bob tattoos. But a thin layer of mud does the trick.

Here is proof that I wasn't worked on by only one person! He is smiling now, but he wasn't always.

Here is the destruction of my lower level. It was pretty smelly from smoke, pets, etc....

Happy and Sad News

Well the guy that lives here is happy but I am sad. The guy that lives here got a promotion and will be moving in the winter time. I am sad because he has been a great guy to live with but it is good news for him. Pictured here is some of the work he has started to do as final projects before he tries to sell me. Here you can see my nice floors that have been covered up for to many years. I wish I knew where he is moving to.

Morgan Creek

The good looking "Girlfriend" was here again on a visit. Sounds like they had a great time and even found a local winery.

Here is a picture of some friends that met the happy couple at the winery. Not sure that is the normal mode of transit to a wine tasting.

"New Table"

Check out my "new" table!! Ok, it isn't really new but the neighbor just finished refinishing it so it looks new. A cool thing about this table is that it is made totally from oak floor boards and was given to the guy that lives here from his aunt.

True Fishing Boat

Well I am happy to report that the "new" boat is truly a fishing boat. Over the last few days the guy that lives here has brought home some nice fish. Just wish he would find a better place to clean them besides my sink.

A visitor from Washington

Hello there. Let me introduce a new visitor. This is Cindy (Teri's sister). She was able to extend her business trip in Minnesota and spend some time with here family here. She was also nice enough to stop by and see "this old house".

There is a lot of excite brewing with new clothes and talk of a night on the town at a wine bar that also serves beer and has live music. Sounds like a great match for this group. Wish they would let me tag along.

I didn't realize how difficult and time consuming painting can be. The final product looks great though. Maybe she will come back and paint me. I don't have toes, but I do have a lot of walls that need some new color.
Ahhhhhhh, what I beautiful woman. How is the guy that lives here so lucky to get a woman like this to stop by? I think she is secretly just stopping to see me and using the guy that lives here as an excuse.
Here is a picture from the Wine Cafe. Sounds like it wasn't what they were hoping. That is alright with me though, I was happy they came back and chilled with me.

After the sister left on Sunday morning, the guy that lives here tried to squeeze in a quick fishing trip. Well I still haven't seen any fish and I think he got caught in the rain because he was soaked to the bone when he returned 1 hour later. When will he learn to listen to me and the neighbor.

Enjoying the night

Tonight seemed like a great night for the poor soul that lives here with me. When he got home he quickly relaxed by taking the "wet girl" (boat) on the water and I watched him chill out. When he was on the water he was looking so relaxed. Then when he returned there was a lot of cussing at a trim motor. Then the neighbor came over and the tools came out. In short, some elbow grease and WD40 fixed the problem. Needless to say no one was working on improving ME.
Now this is relaxing. A fishing pole in the foreground and the sun setting on the horizon. Though I am only a house and can't hold a fishing pole, the scene is still good enough to be a dream.
This is scene that I (the house) got left for right after he got home from work. What happened to "our time"?

Fishing with Jared

Here is the neighbor boy out fishing with the guy that lives here. Unfortunately I never saw him bring anything back with them.
Ahhhh, here is proof that they did catch something. I hope he doesn't want to eat that!

Spring Yard Work

Now this felt good. The guy that lives here finally got out and worked in the yard. Now I feel like spring is really here. Pictured here are the leaves he raked up and some of the new soil he brought in and seeded with grass. Home the grass goes and fills in the "dirt spot".
Look what was hiding under the leaves. The guy that lives here was surprised to see the flower seedling. I bet he has no idea as to what the flowers are.
Here is another new patch grass seed. I guess the guy didn't like the rocks I had there before. Now I just hope the grass grows quickly.
Here is the new view of the walkway to the barn in the back. I guess the "someone" was tired of the old evergreen tree that was at the end of the walkway (see below).

It floats

Here is a picture that the guy that lives here shared with me. He said it was proof that the "new" boat truly floats. From where I am sitting I could watch him running all over the lake with a large smile on his face. Funny thin though, I didn't see any fish in his hands. Guess he needs some practice.
The neighboring house got "flocked". Some local kids covered the yard with these lovely birds as a fun raiser. I kind of hope they pay the "fine" to have them removed because I think they add a little excitement to the yard.
Another new thing to the neighbor's yard is this big dumpster. The guy next door is getting a whole new kitchen, living room, and possibly more. I am excited to see what develops.
Here is the first NASCAR party. I was happy to see that these guys make themselves to home here. There was a couple other rug rats running around playing "basketball" on my second floor.
The man that lives here was extremely happy this weekend. He shared the weekend with this lovely woman who he calls his girlfriend. She looks happy here.

Here Teri is chilling and starting to get REALLY comfortable. I think she fell asleep shortly after the picture was taken.

Check out this meal!! Now this looks good. The guy that lives here might not have the best stuff in the world, but sure loves to eat well. It put a large smile on Teri's face tooooo.
